Alan Wilder Bio |
Alan Wilder PicturesAlan Wilder was born on
June 1,

1959 in Hammersmith, London, UK. After
Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode in 1981 the band continued on with their second album '
A Broken Frame' (their first album as a three-piece). Alan joined them on tour in 1982 but did not officially become a member until 1983.
Over the next 12 years he helped to shape Depeche Mode and give them a darker, more mature sound. 1993's album '
Songs Of Faith And Devotion' was the last studio album to feature Alan, as was the subsequent tour,
The Devotional/Exotic Tour, and he announced his departure from the group on 1st June 1995 - his 36th birthday.
Since then he has continued to work on another project,
Recoil (whose origins can be traced back as far as 1986).
