Important 'notes':

  • The album is lighter in tone and melody than their later work, a direction which is likely due to Vince Clarke's writing. After he left, Martin Gore took over songwriting writing almost all of the band's material; later albums written by him would explore ever darker subjects.

  • All tracks written by Vince Clarke except "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and "Big Muff", which were written by Martin L. Gore.
